A renowned historian of the Outaouais region does not hesitate to say "that all the important events in the life of Hull between 1924 and 1972 went through the presses of the Imprimerie du Progrès". In 1972, the founders and owners of the newspaper decided to abandon publication in order to concentrate on commercial printing activities.
